Freestyle Wrestling – Wrestling in a Free Style
Freestyle wrestling is a form of amateur wrestling that is practised all over the world. Actually, it is one of the oldest sports. The other forms of wrestling are Greco-Roman, Sambo and Judo.
A match is conducted between two wrestlers of the same weight class. The team of three referees is used in Freestyle wrestling. The referee controls the match in the center, blowing the whistle to start and stop it. The judge sits at the side of the mat. The mat chairman sitting at the scoring table keeps the time. The agreement of two of the three referees is required to award points, assess penalties, or call a pin.
Freestyle is the only style practiced in female wrestling, probably because Greco-Roman style requires more strength. Some small U.S. College clubs hold freestyle matches against Canadian universities mostly, because of the restricted number of wrestling programs in the U.S., and none of the U.S. Organizations sponsor women wrestling, as does the Canadian Interuniversity Sports Association.
Female Wrestling List
Many websites offer visitors the opportunity to participate in the creation of female wrestling lists by sending their comments and reviews, and participating in forums.
Of course, female wrestling videos can hardly be compared to the excitement of live shows, but if you don't have an opportunity of visiting wrestling shows yourself, videos can compensate for it pretty well. Huge number of websites offer downloads of female wrestling videos, many times for free, and if you are a wrestling fan, you can't miss such an opportunity!
