RAW Wrestling – Breaking New Ground in TV Pro Wrestling
WWE Raw is the Monday night professional wrestling TV program for World Wrestling Entertainment and is the primary broadcast of the RAW brand. WWE Raw is generally seen as WWE's flagship program over its sister programs, SmackDown! and ECW, due to its longer history and the way it is promoted.
It started as WWF Monday Night RAW on January 11, 1993 on the USA Network lasting for one hour. The original RAW broke new ground in televised professional wrestling.
The RAW story originates from the Grand Ballroom at Manhattan Center Studios. At this small theater live wrestling events were aired every week and were very successful. However, because of financial restraints WWE RAW changed its course and began featuring live and taped shows on alternate weeks.
Today, WWE Raw is the Monday night professional wrestling TV program and is the principal show of the RAW brand. It is broadcasted live in many countries including Malaysia, Canada, India, South Korea and others.
RAW Theme
WWE RAW themes have been complete audible pleasures to the audience. The most famous WWE RAW theme is that played for the three-hour RAW Family Reunion. It was October 9, 2006 when WWE RAW attained a new logo and a new RAW theme to celebrate the season premiere featuring wrestlers from ECW and Smackdown.
Papa Roach's "To Be Loved" replaced the former RAW theme – Union Underground's Across the Nation.
